A shared activity
Parents and kids share a sport they can talk about, learn from and make progress in together, even when they train in different groups.
FAMILY BJJ · ZURICH & THALWIL
Yes. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu works very well as a shared family sport. Kids and adults train in age-appropriate groups, while sharing the same dojo, the same community and a common activity the whole family can grow with.

ONE SPORT ACROSS GENERATIONS
A family does not need to take the exact same class to share BJJ. Children learn in age-specific groups and adults train in their own classes. What connects them is the same sport, the same training culture and often the same trip to the dojo.
Parents and kids share a sport they can talk about, learn from and make progress in together, even when they train in different groups.
Neither children nor adults need martial arts experience or a particular fitness level to start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Kids training combines movement, coordination, rules and controlled partner work. Adults build technique, fitness and resilience progressively.
Tournaments are never required. Families can practise BJJ entirely as a recreational and community sport, with additional competition training available for those who want it.
HOW FAMILY BJJ WORKS
Our kids and adult programmes are structured separately. Depending on the day and location, class times can work well together, but we deliberately do not promise simultaneous classes at all times. The current schedule is always decisive.
Pick Zurich or Thalwil as your shared location and see which kids and adult classes fit your family routine.
Tell us who in the family wants to train, the children's ages and whether anyone already has experience.
The team recommends a suitable class for each family member, from Kids BJJ to fundamentals, Gi, No-Gi or Women Only.
BJJ is especially rewarding when progress is shared rather than compared: everyone develops at their own pace while the family stays connected through the same sport.
TWO DOJOS · ONE COMMUNITY
Both locations offer programmes for kids and adults. The best combination depends on the current weekly schedule.

WHO CAN JOIN?
BJJ can meet different needs within one family without forcing everyone into the same training format.

Age-specific kids groups teach movement, coordination, technique, rules and respectful partner work.
Many adults discover BJJ through their children. No martial arts background or particular fitness level is required to start.
Alongside regular adult classes, Women Only options are available for women who prefer a dedicated training environment.
Siblings can train in the appropriate kids groups for their ages, while youth, apprentices and students have dedicated membership options.
MEMBERSHIPS
We offer separate Kids, Adult, Women and Youth & Students options. We do not invent a family discount that does not exist: the right choice depends on the programme and training frequency that suit each family member. Current prices are listed centrally on our pricing page.
