BJJ BEGINNERS ZURICH
You do not need to be fit, flexible or experienced in martial arts to start BJJ. At our Zurich dojo you learn the fundamentals step by step, with coaches who explain what to expect in your first class.
YOUR FIRST BJJ EXPERIENCE
Many beginners wonder whether they should first get fitter, lose weight or learn martial arts. It works the other way around: start where you are and build fitness, movement and technique through regular training.
There is no minimum fitness level. Intensity and live training are introduced progressively.
Clean sportswear and a water bottle are enough for your first trial class.
BJJ teaches position, leverage, control and problem-solving rather than relying on strength alone.
The international community makes it easy for English-speaking beginners to join.
HOW TO START
We recommend a suitable beginner or all-level class. Arrive a few minutes early, meet the coach and dojo, and begin with technique and controlled exercises.
