4 reasons your kid should Train Bjj

1) TEACHES KIDS HOW TO
LEARN FROM FAILURE
Unlike many other martial arts, jiu jitsu
requires you to practice against a resisting
opponent. At first, every child will fail, and
that is ok! Coaches and peers will be there
to encourage them to keep trying, this is
how children begin to develop resiliency
and learn not to be afraid of failure.
Overtime this process helps children
develop a growth mindset in which they
learn that they can improve and learn
from failure. All it takes is effort and "try"

2) IMPROVES COORDINATION

AND MOTOR SKILLS
jujitsu requires a great deal of fine and
gross motor skills and a high level of body
awareness. At first movements and
techniques may look clunky, but through
repetition and encouraged mindfulness,
children begin to develop better motor
skills.
This is the primary reason people enroll
their children in multiple sports, to help
them gain better body control. Jiu jitsu is
one of few sports that is well rounded and
incorporates many different motor skills

3) TEACHES SELF DEFENSE
One of the beautiful things about jujitsu is
that it can lend itself to a smaller or
weaker opponent. Using technique and
leverage, jujitsu can allow a weaker or
smaller opponent to defend themselves
aptly.
This is an important skill for children to
have in helping combat against bullying
from peers or dangerous situations with
adults.

4) DEVELOPS CONFIDENCE
The most common benefit parents talk
about is the massive effect jiu jitsu had on
their child's confidence. Due to the nature of
jujitsu it teaches kids not to fear failure,
they learn that they can still be strong and
effective against a bigger opponent, and
teaches them that they have a team of
friends and coaches who support them. All
of these factors come together to build
confidence.
This confidence does not just apply to jiu
jitsu, it extends to all facets of their lives
(school, socially, against bullies, other
sports...etc)
